Ask yourself this before your self-care routine

Ask yourself this before your self-care routine

Not in the mood for reading? Listen in here: It's funny how time has the capacity to feel as almost though it has stood still when we meditate. Fifteen minutes of quieting the mind and slowing down that constant drip, drip of thought can really just make it feel as though the world has stopped. When we come to, taking that pause has never felt more refreshing, more content inspiring and while the thoughts return to the mind pretty quickly, everything is at a slightly different pace. Everything is moving differently and it feels good, refreshing, reassuring. As I prepare myself for life with a new baby and a lack of time to do this in the morning in the way I used to do, I will be taking advantage of these snatched pockets of time I get in the day. Take it when you can get it I think it's really important that although pressing the reset button at the start of the day is the best way, in my opinion, to live an intentional day actually having that time to refresh the mind and slow down is beneficial anytime you can fit it in. You're family are going to appreciate you so much better when you take that time because life improves, things improve when you take time out. It's all part...

What does it take to be authentic?

What does it take to be authentic?

Authenticity. Do I need to reveal all of myself to be truly authentic? This is a question that comes up in different forms within the Baby Business School group. It's also something that has been on my mind particularly during this pregnancy, as I've got to know people on different levels. Sometimes it's a client level, sometimes I'm their client, sometimes it's friends with a business relationship. When the lines become blurred in the way that you interact with people, I think that being authentic and being true to yourself takes on a different dimension than when you were just in a client-student relationship or client-mentor relationship. However, I think that how you choose to act and how you choose to communicate your standpoint and viewpoint about a certain subject, or a certain matter, or a certain person has to be in alignment with how you truly feel deep down. Otherwise, you are being inauthentic. I think it's really interesting because the...

The Power of Positivity

The Power of Positivity

Today's vlog is a very brief one. It is just about the power of positivity. 101 PollyAnnas I know that it can get very bugging when you are surrounded by a million and one Pollyannas. I also think that when you are consistently trying to stay positive, particularly when everything around you feels like it is just kind of falling to shit, that it can feel really fake, inauthentic. There is also a part of us that wants people to like us. I think that we like an underdog, don't we? We like it when we see someone triumph over adversity. Sharing our adversity with people makes us a bit more likable and relatable. Whilst I fully get that and understand it and I think that it's really important to be authentic and true to yourself, I honestly think that if you are in the camp where you've got to let it all out, and tell everyone your problems, and tell everybody how crap things are going, you're feeding more energy into the crapness and what we focus on expands. What I Do The way that I deal with times when I'm feeling negative is I really use my journal. I get it out. Then, I re-look at what it is that is frustrating me or that is negative. I look at the meaning that I am ascribing to...
