3 Steps to Stop Overthinking

Don’t let overthinking get in the way of your productivity

If you often find your mind running wild and getting in the way of you doing allofthethings you wish to do – then this one’s for you.

I hear you.

I feel you.

I get you.

Seriously – I see this all the time. It’s so, so common. And it’s a downward spiral, right? You start to worry about a particular thing, you consider every possible outcome that could occur from best to worst, and what happens is usually this: it stops you acting altogether. You’ve got the faith, you’ve got the knowing. In fact – you know deep down in your soul that you’re capable, that you have something important to deliver, BUT there’s something getting in the way of you taking action. And without action, well… you’re not going to get results.

Well fear no more, my loves – because I’ve created a handy 3 step formula that you can use when you feel yourself start to spin out and overthink things.

It goes a little something like this…

  • Easy does it

I’ve spoken before about simplicity. Often the most difficult of problems have the most simple solution. I’m sure you can think of many times in your life where that has been the case. So the first thing you need to do is STOP. Just stop, whatever you’re doing, whatever you’re thinking… pause. You need to free your mind of everything that’s clouding your vision. And then ask yourself – what would this look like if it was easy? What would this look like if I wasn’t worrying about all the things that could go wrong. It sounds simple, because it is. Ask yourself how you can make this situation as easy as possible for yourself – that’s the route you need to take.

  • No time for excuses

This is a biggie. The “yeah, buts”. That is one of the biggest things that holds people back. Going over all the reasons NOT to do something, instead all the reasons for doing it. Considering the worst case scenario, without focussing on the limitless possibilities and all the positives outcomes that could arise. This is your conscious mind protecting you – telling you it’s not safe to put yourself out there, to take a risk. If you listened to that all the time, you’d never do anything. Seriously – you have to be less scared of failure. Aim to win, but if you fail – learn the lesson and keep going.

  • Follow your heart

Cliche but true. Tune into that heart wisdom. Only you know what’s best for you. Take the solution you have come up with using the first two steps and drop it into your heart. Really feel into whether it feels like the right thing to do, for you and for your dreamboat clients. If it’s a no, you’ve got some fine tuning to do, but you’re still three steps further ahead than you were. And if it’s a yes – you know what to do!

I chat through this in more detail in The Limitless Life Experience Podcast – if you’d like to hear more about putting this into practice, you can listen to that here.

And as always, I’m here if you need to talk – often, just identifying what’s getting in the way and saying it out loud is the first step to simplifying what’s going on in your head!

Lotsa love,
