7 steps to setting your day up for success

Here’s something I know to be true…

Starting your day right is integral to your success.

Your morning routine is SO freaking important when it comes to living your purpose and leading a life without limitations. You can have the biggest dreams in the world, but if you’re not committing to showing up with intention every single day, it’s going to take you a whole lot longer to get there, if you do at all.

But here’s the good news…

Whether you consider yourself a morning person or not, there are tools and techniques you can use to make sure that you get up on the right side of the bed, and have a day that takes you one step closer to making your dream a reality. Every. Day.

Something to remember is that this work starts the night before.

Joe Dispenza says that 99% of the population is living in the past, and it’s so freaking true.

How many times have you had an argument with your other half, and then woke up still fretting over it, and let it take over your whole day? This is self-sabotage, peeps.

Real talk – the only person who gets to decide how your day goes is you, no one else.

Which takes me nicely into step 1 of my 7 steps to setting your day up for success…

  1. Decide how you want to feel in the morning

Set the intention, and do this the night before. Decide what feelings you want to experience, and imagine feeling them. Say the words out loud and commit to them every night before you go to bed. I guarantee you’ll be able to feel the benefits of this after about a week.

  1. Check in with yourself

Following on from this, I just want you to check in with yourself every day to make sure you’re not slipping. It’s quite easy to get excited about a new intention when it’s fresh. But as life gets in the way, you might feel yourself losing focus. So after you’ve got intentional the night before, just make sure you repeat the intention when you wake up for best practice.

  1. An attitude of gratitude

It’s no secret that having a gratitude practice can work wonders for your mood and productivity, but I really can’t stress this enough, loves. No matter how busy I am, I always make sure to highlight 4 or 5 things that I’m grateful for each day. I like to do this before the kids are awake, so I can really dedicate that time to myself. As well as this, decide what other rituals help you focus and commit to those too – for me, journaling hits the spot.

  1. Love bombing

This next step turns the attention away from feeling grateful for everyone and everything else… and brings it back to you. It requires carving out time each morning just to go over all of the things you love about yourself. Start at your toes and work your way up, showing appreciation for every body part and what it does for you. It might feel cringe at first but once you get into it, this will completely shift your mindset – trust me.

  1. Remember your vision and mission

If this isn’t a part of your morning practice already, when why the freaking hell not? Of course you should be connecting to your vision every day. Of course you should be aligning to your mission every day. Get specific with it, and feel what it would feel like to have already achieved it. If this doesn’t give you your get up and go, nothing will!

For me, my mission is to work with a million female entrepreneurs to help them step into limitless living and divine self expression, so we can be the army of women who make the positive difference and the positive changes this world so desperately needs. Like, HELLO… how could I remember that and not be so freaking excited to get to work? Impossible.

  1. Choose 3 non negotiables

Last but not least, I want you to decide on your 3 non negotiables that will help make your vision and mission a reality. Sometimes our to do lists are so freaking long and achievable that they actually do more harm than good. I find it helps to choose 3 things you absolutely know you can commit to. It could be showing up on social on Instagram live, it could be an hour of dedicated big picture thinking, it could be a daily check in with your team…

These can be as big or small as you like, but have to be things you are able to achieve every day – without fail.

And that’s it, my friends. 7 steps to setting up your day for success.
